Details:
Brad and Cindy Barr, owners of a small
commercial dairy in N. E. Ohio, are in need of your help. Late last
fall, as Brad was going to work, exiting an expressway ramp, a car came up the off-ramp hitting
him head-on. Brad was rushed to a local
hospital with a broken neck and numerous other injuries.
He broke the same vertebrae that Christopher
Reeves broke. His saving grace was he
realized his injuries and did not move. Even after the police
arrived, he told
them he could not open the door.
He was not expected to survive. He was
in a coma for 3 days. He has survived and has done miraculously well.
At the moment, he can walk with a cane, dragging
his right foot, which has no feeling. Recently he's had
black-out spells and his left arm has
been going numb. His lungs collapsed just this week and had to be reinflated. He went in for an MRI
to try and figure out what was going on.
Brad's mental outlook is wonderful. He has a great sense
of humor.
The reason I'm seeking your help is
the man who hit Brad was an illegal alien, who has since been
deported to Mexico. He had no insurance. The vehicle he borrowed had no insurance. Brad and
Cindy's uninsured motorists insurance
has paid the hospital bills thus far. There is no money for
anything else. They've used up the little
savings they have. They are not eligible
for any government assistance. Time is
running out on her dairy. Without our help, Cindy will have to disperse the animals she so dearly loves. She
was raised in a very involved 4-H
family. She's had goats all her life. As she told me, her
dream has always been to have a goat
dairy. Without your help, she will surely have to sell her beloved friends. Her production has
suffered because Brad has to go for
therapy 4 or 5 days a week. During those times, she has to
work extremely long hours, getting up at 2 A.M.
I thought that with our help, they could
continue the dairy . The feed costs are what need help the
most. This is a very hard working frugal family
that has come upon a very difficult
time. From the proceeds of this auction, I'm sure she can
survive until
other funds come in.
Thanking you so much in advance for
your help.
