Details:
This auction is for fellow goat breeders who
have lost everything in a fire. This is not the first tragedy
for the family, as Jan is diabetic and had broken her leg
after the Florida State Fair. She had been in the hospital for
almost 3 months, with the doctors thinking they would have to
amputate her leg and finally making a graft work. After 7
surgeries and that long in the hospital, insurance will
not cover it all. Then after only being home for 2+ weeks,
their home burned to the ground on June 2. They lost
everything. Due to the high winds and no rain, the fire
department could do nothing. Charlie received burns, but would
not go to the hospital. The fire department was able to save
the cats, horses and goats.
I will be offering my home for them to stay in,
as they have no family along with offering a home for
some of their dairy goats. Other breeders here in Florida have
also offered their farms for their animals,
In this time of
need, I hope that all of you will consider helping these
people out, as they have certainly fallen on hard times.
The Florida Dairy
Goat Association is also holding their 23rd annual dairy goat
conference on June 16th and 17th and we will be able to set up
cash/auction donations for them at the Conference.
Please consider helping these people out, whether it be
through cash or at the auction. It does not need to be
goat-related, it can be anything of interest. If you would
