I lost a total of 19 Nubians (9 of them were unborn and 2 were delivered by C-section on the 8th, but died that day). I also lost 13 Nigerian Dwarfs (4 were unborn). I had only 5 survivors. two were only 2 weeks old and they lost their mom and sister. Quinn, my Dwarf Nubian, was a survivor as well and was suffering from serious head injuries. The goats I lost were more then just plain old goats. They were my best friends, my hopes and dreams. They were my "STARS!" With the help of some wonderful people, I have been able to start a new herd of some beautiful goats. Although they will never be able to take place of my "FALLEN STARS", they are my new "SHINING STARS!" Even with my new goats, I felt lost. I know I had to make something good happen out of something so horrible. I spent weeks wondering about why's and how comes'. That wasn't making a difference, and I wanted to make a difference. So, with the help of my parents, we came up with the idea of "STARS!", Saving Threatened Animals Rescue Society. Objective: The objective of the STARS program is to help any animal that is threatened in some way. It maybe threatened by another animal, a human or even threatened my Mother Nature. The animals of my main focus will be towards farm animals, but I will help any animals in need. I will only be able to help a few animals at a time, so I an give them the love and attention they so desire and/or need. As well as, still allowing me to work with my own animals. Plan: My plan is a simple one. I would like to work with local veterinarians, out local Humane Society, as well as Animal Control Officers and the Game and Fish Department (which I have already talked to them all and presented my plans). By working with these people I hope to help them and they, in return, can help me by letting me be involved with rescues or helping animals that are in need. I would like to help injured animals, help raise orphans and help people that may not be able to care for their injured or sick pet properly. I would like to help rescue threatened animals and help to place them in loving homes. I would like to be a foster home and help with rehabilitation of these animals until permanent homes or solutions can be found. I also plan to help educate the public on dog attacks, on the effect humans have on animal behavior, why animals need to be fixed, why animals need to be contained, the effects other animals have on livestock and preventive measures and much, much more. Financial Goal: My financial goat right now is to get enough money together to allow me to have supplies on hand and to be able to feed the animals I take in with a healthy, much needed diet. Other sources of income: We are working on designing a stuffed goat to sell and all proceeds will benefit "STARS" Wesley
	"Experience: My experience and knowledge of animals comes from the love of owning and raising my own animals. I have been around animals all my life. I have been raised with dogs, cats, horses, dairy goats, rabbits and birds. My family has always helped any animal that we have come across That was in need, be it wild or domesticated. We have taken in several stray animals and helped raise them until a new home was found or they stayed with us. My mother has training as a Veterinarian Assistant and she was also raised with animals of all kinds and was in charge of their care. My father, as well, was raised with livestock and pets and is an EMT! My little bother is in charge of loving and feels that that is just as important. We have a small farm with a pasture and a barn, as well as a fenced in backyard with dog kennels to help us house stray animals. I have knowledge on animal behavior, husbandry, first aid skills for animals and humans, general care and health of farm animals. Goal: My goal with the "STARS" program is to do at least 32 rescues, one in the name of each fallen star. To date I am working on rescue #13. But I do not really want to stop there. I would like to get other children involved with this program, so they too can experience the feeling of unconditional love, helping a threatened animals gives. My SUPERKIDS Goat Club members have already gotten involved. My dream is to one day own and operate a true rescue facility. I hope to be able to purchase some land, where I can build a barn with runs, as well as a dog and cat facility, along with an office and hopefully a clinic. A GOAT HAVEN! My ultimate goal is to help any animals that has been or maybe threatened. I want to help all animals REACH FOR THE STARS!"
