Strand Auction

"This auction is for fellow goat breeder Becky  Strand of Minnesota.  Becky lives in the small city of Oakdale on 3 acres of prime real estate surrounded.  It is the only 3 acres of undeveloped land in that area.  Part of the property joins the city park, where the public beach is located.
 She lives as many small goat breeders do in a small farmstead situation.   

On June 28, the local police came while Becky was at work and confiscated her 49 goats (with the kids from this year the total is 49), her 27 year old miniature horse, and her ram.  Their claim is she was neglecting her animals, although the goat folks in her area have seen the animals and do not believe they were neglected.  Becky shows very competitively in Minnesota as well!  Oddly, they left the dogs and the poultry!!  They left a newborn kid there as well who had just been born.  Their claim was that there wasn't any feed or hay for the goats (the animals had been fed that morning and Becky has her feed store and hay receipts as well as hay and feed being there on the farm) and that there was algae in the water buckets.
