February 2006

On February 5th, 2006 while doing some yard work, an aerosol can exploded in a pile of burning trash, hitting Ken Barbier in the face.  He suffered burns, as well as facial fracture to the right side of his face.  He also received damage to his right eye from piece of the can.

On February 6th surgery was performed to repair the facial fractures as well as to try and save his right eye.  Unfortunately the right eye had to be removed due to the damage.

Ken Barbier has been a concrete truck driver for 20 years. He will no longer be able to hold a CDL license and do that job.  Finding a new job will take some time.

Ken, along with his wife Judy and daughter Amanda maintain a small herd of Alpine and Nubian Dairy Goats in Maricopa, AZ.  They have been involved with goats since 1994.

This auction is to help raise funds to offset some of the financial burden that will be placed on the family, as they try to get back on their feet.
