A complete description of the aspects of
the Auction:
A benefit auction for
Ben
Buskohi from Bloomer, WI, herdname is Les Serrette. On Thursday morning
Oct 21st, 2010 a fire broke out in his goat barn.. He had finished with
his evening chores at about 4 am and headed back out to the barn to
start morning chores at 9am and there was fire shooting up out of the
barn where he had all his goats ((We’re not sure just how many goats but
are guessing he had around 80-100. He was milking 35 or so. There were
about 18 babies that had been born since October 1st and he had several
that were due to kid any day, plus bucks, older kids and dry does). He
tried to get the goats out but they were to scared and the fire burned
so fast that he was unable to save a single one. Thankfully his milk
hauler was there to make him come out before he got hurt. He had some
smoke inhalation but it wasn't serious. The fire burned everything so
hot that even the metal things like milk stands, wheelbarrows etc are
ruined. He lost all 30 years of breeding these goats and developing his
herd. He also lost the new milking machine that he had purchased a few
months before.
Financial Goal:
We are hoping to be able to raise enough money to help him purchased
equipment and goats to continue with his commercial dairy.
