 The purpose of this benefit auction is to raise funds for a long-time and well-respected Nubian and LaMancha breeder, Joan Coolidge, of Amberwood Dairy Goats.  Joan has bred dairy goats since the mid-1970s, and the success of her breeding program can be seen in the progeny of Amberwood animals that are currently represented in many fine herds.  In Joan’s own words, as stated on her web page, “Amberwood, the home of high milk production and championship stock, enters it's 30th year in the Dairy Goat Industry. Our bucks have been the foundation and/or the upgrading of many herds throughout the country. “  

 Joan recently relocated from Mariposa, CA to Missouri.  During the trip, Joan lost her senior Nubian herd sire, Amberwood Chancellor’s Vision, plus two of her beloved cats.  While towing her truck on a car dolly, it disconnected twice, and may have been in gear for part of the trip. As a result, it needs to be either mechanically rebuilt or replaced.  Joan is staying with friends temporarily, as the place she had planned on didn’t come through.  All this means that Joan is in Missouri and feeling pretty hopeless without a permanent place, no truck, goats not in the best living situation, and trying to recover from a recent illness and animal looses during the trip. 

Although recovery takes time, replacing a truck, finding a place to live and rebuilding one’s life all take money.  Please bid on items offered for auction in Joan’s behalf.    We are also soliciting donations of items to offer at auction and also welcome cash contributions.  All proceeds will go directly to Joan as soon as they are received.
