On Sunday, November 4th, 2001, tragedy hit
the home of one of our dearest
goat families - Rimfire's Deb & Frank Smith and Family. Only a couple of miles from their home, Deb was physically taken
away from those that
love and cherish her, by a car accident.
Over the last couple of years, this family has
gone through a tremendous
amount of personal hardships with sickness and accidents, which in turn has led to a lot of financial hardships. Now not
only are they faced with the agonizing pain of
loss, but the burden of the associated finances - funeral, etc. - as well.
Deb, Frank and Family have been associated with
Nubians and the goat world
for many years. Actively involved with the INBA as well as their local club in ADGA District IV. They have unselfishly
given many hours of their time and knowledge to
those in need, people, clubs,
fundraisers, and 4 legged critters of all shapes and sizes.
Now, I hope that we, as an extended family, can
pull together to help Frank
and the Family. Many of us have been torn by this tragedy and want to help in some way. So please, if you can, donate an item
or bid on an item. We may not be able to ease the
burden of their grief and pain, but hopefully we
can ease the financial burden that has fallen upon
them. We will keep the auction short and only run it for 30 days. So hurry to place your donations.
Also, we have a Memorial
Page for Deb. Please feel free to add your thoughts,
images, photos or other tributes you would like to share.
Please take some time and pay a
visit to their herd's web site Rimfire Farm
and also the herd that Deb has in partnership with
her long time close friend Molly
Saal, Udder-Fire herd.
