DA's Horsefeathers
Well I wanted just Horsefeathers but ADGA would have none of that as someone already had the name. We named our farm Horsefeathers after the Marxx Bros movie by the same name and the fact that we raised chickens also (not any more!). The name stuck and so I named the goat herd the same.

After falling in love with Nigerian Dwarf goats in 2000 I had to decide on a name so i resorted to my favorite movie Willow. Daikinis are the full size people in the movie. And my favorite quote "stupid Daikini" is what i imagined my goats thought of me as I learned how to be a goat handler. To this day I swear it is what they say everytime i spill feed or make a mistake. So what started as 3 does for pets in has turned into a nice size herd. Brenna Quilter

Dairy Creek
I started raising dairy goats as a 4-H project in 1997 with a lamancha doe. Since then, I have "migrated" into FFA and have also started many new projects in both FFA and 4-H including beef, swine, poultry etc. I currently raise alpines and still have a few lamanchas here and there. I have a very small herd of 12+ and plan to keep it small as a champion or high milk producer eats as much food and takes up as much time as an animal that doesn't produce or show, right? Currently, my sister has started raising strictly lamanchas under the herd name of "Platinum" dairy goats while I have pretty much stuck to alpines. The herd is located on the beautiful central coast of california, not too cold, not too hot, just perfect for both goats, AND humans!!

Deer Run
We (Jim and Martha Behneman McGrath) used to have a herd of Nubian Dairy Goats in Southern Maryland in the mid 70's to the late 80's called Jennie Run Farm, after the creek that ran through our property. When we moved (without the goats) to West Virginia in 1989, we decided to again name our flock after the nearby creek. The town we had hosen had also been named after the creek, so "Deer Run" just seemed a good choice!

Desert Star Ranch
At the time I picked my herd name, I lived in the Desert of Las Vegas, NV. Desert Star sounded good to me... so that is what I decided to go with. I moved in Caldwell Idaho in Oct 2005. However, even though not in the desert anymore... I've decided to keep my herd name.
